When I started truck driving, I noticed that the only mention of God or Jesus was not with the reverence that God and Christ are due. I made a promise to God that I would do what I could to reach lost drivers. I would be a liar if I said there were no discouraging times, but when I hit my lowest point, God will send just the right soul that is ready to accept Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Suddenly, all that seemed such a waste, is a joy that I can't put into words to justify the feelings of knowing someone is saved from hell.

Other things that help with the time is meeting fellow believers on the road and the countless sermons that are available to drivers in many truck stops.

A sermon I read in the "Sword of the Lord" (a highly recommended Christian newspaper) is the sermon titled, "Stay in Crete" by the late Jack Hyles. God sent his profit to Crete. When he became discouraged, God told him, "Crete needs you, and you need Crete".
I feel God needs truckers, and truckers need God. If God wants me to show drivers the way to receive him, who am I to argue.

Over the past years I led a man who was addicted to pornography to the Lord. He told me of his addiction, and said how bad he wanted to be free of it. We talked the whole night, and by the end of the conversation he said he could not get rid of the collection he had amassed. I told him that if he couldn't, I could. That brought him to tears, that someone cared enough about him to do that . Three days later, he called me, and said he had done it. He made several trips to the land fill, and disposed of all his pornographic material. That night he accepted the Lord. With God, all things are possible.
Another driver that accepted the Lord was into drugs in school. He had later given them up. One weekend he smoked some marijuana. The next day, he was told he had to take a random drug test. His boss asked if that was going to be a problem. He told his boss what he had done. His boss gave him a week to clean up(this time only he added). When he took the test he passed. As a result of this, he swore to never do it again.

Be sure your sins will find you out. Driver, when you accept the Lord your life will change in the things you give up for God, or in the things the Holy Spirit persuades you to give up. Know this; the change that takes place, it takes place to glorify the Lord.

I remember this story and think this is a good time to tell it. This story is about a meeting between satan and his demons. Satan calls the meeting to order and asked his demons to make suggestions on how to keep people from going to heaven. The first demon said,"we could tell them the gospel is not true". Satan said,"that will not work I am the father of lies". After several suggestions satan felt that it might be hopeless. Suddenly, one little demon in the back of the room said,"we could make people think they have plenty of time"! Satan put his finger to his cheek, thought for a moment, then yelled,"thats it"! When people think they have plenty of time, they could die never knowing Christ. They will be in hell with us. You have to admit; that is what most people think.

Something else that is true, the more times you reject the gospel the harder your heart becomes. The younger a person is, the easier they are to reach. Often now by twelve years old many children have made a choice; that has eternal consequences. Schools are force feeding evolution to children. Many times; it is the wrong choice they make. Face it, children are the future, but most are beguiled by Harry Potter and the trash taught in public schools(where the Bible used to be a text book and is now banned). It is no surprise that they are lost.
